Maiami City was a nice city, a normal city, though maybe a little eccentric and show-offy when it came to public spectacle and performance. And then, one lovely day, in the middle of the biggest public parade of the year, something interrupted. Some kind of monstrous animal. It effectively wrecked the entire event and freaked the hell out of a good chunk of the population before seemingly dissolving into nothing, like it was unstable. Yuzu had been there, right there, in its line of sight before it vanished, and she never wanted to go near anything like that ever again.

Sadly, Yoko Sakaki and a mysterious boy known only as DD had different ideas. Using a set of notes and information left behind by the last people to initiate a Mew Project, they infuse Yuzu with the DNA of the Greek Goldenring Dragonfly, cordulegaster helladica, and reluctantly, she becomes Mew Fantasia, defender of Maiami City and leader of Maiami Mew Mew, currently only made up of her and Ayu.
